The Digital Library’s infrastructure has been developed on 2000 square feet of carpet space on the library building’s ground floor.

Information and communication technology has revolutionized the library sector. This modest trend is ubiquitous, including in medical libraries. The medical library has healthcare-specific issues. Medical research into emerging diseases and the development of the healthcare system are among these issues. Our digital library’s main purpose is to provide KLE Academy of Higher Learning and Research, Belagavi professors, students, and researchers with the most relevant and current material from the World Wide Web.

It includes the Librarian, Server, Maintenance, and Front Desk/Waiting Room. The Digital Library features a modern design and has air conditioning and continuous electricity.

  • Online search for E-Journals, e-books, and articles.
  • Online Reference Books.
  • Practice Guidelines Drug Information.

Rules and Regulations

  • Wearing an identity card/mask is compulsory before entering the Digital Library.
  • Students should have their registered internet account activated at the Wi-Fi Server Room.
  • Silence shall be observed at all times. Loud conversations and misbehavior inside the Digital Library are discouraged.
  • Chewing gum and eating/drinking inside the Digital Library are not permitted.
  • Recreational activities like playing games, audio/video streaming, online chatting, and accessing social networking sites are prohibited.
  • Downloading, installing, and running software other than those already installed on the computer stations is not allowed.
  • Downloading and accessing pornographic sites and materials are not allowed.
  • Illegal/Unlawful activities such as (but not limited to) hacking, deleting files, and changing/tweaking system configurations/passwords resulting in damage to systems and networks are prohibited.
  • Users may not tamper with any equipment inside the facility, especially the computer units. In the case of hardware/software problems, ask for assistance from the staff on duty.
  • The use of mobile devices is strictly prohibited inside the library premises.
  • The Digital Library staff on duty has the right to request the user to leave the premises if he/she is found to be violating any of these rules.
  • Please cooperate with the Digital Library Staff.

Institutional Repository

An institutional repository is a database with a set of services to capture, store, index, preserve, and redistribute a university’s scholarly research in digital formats.

This institutional repository has been created to collect, preserve, and distribute the scholarly output of PG dissertations submitted by PG students, PhD theses, and previous year question papers and projects under various faculties of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi. This will work as an important tool to facilitate scholarly communication and preserve the institution’s knowledge. The Dr. S.G. Desai Library (Digital Library) is proud to host the repository and work for the dissemination and preservation of knowledge resources in the KAHER community.
