The KLE Society’s successful foray into healthcare began with the Dr Prabhakar Kore Super specialty Hospital and Research Centre – a Hospital offering 2000+ beds and state of the art medical facilities. The KLE Society continues the fine tradition of service through the KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Belagavi. This 2000+ beds modern hospital envisioned by Dr Prabhakar Basavaprabhu Kore , set on an 17 acre sprawling land mass also offers concessional beds to the poor and needy populace. The hospital brings together a committed team of domain experts to provide excellent healthcare services of more than 300 consultant doctors, skilled nurses, technical and paramedical staff. The state of the art infrastructure includes 30 operation theatres and 270 ICU Bed and a wide range of specialty & super specialty features
Dental Science is an area that has gained tremendous recognition in recent years. In the past, this important facet of Medical Science was neglected in comparison with mainstream medicine. The ratio of qualified Dental Surgeons was very low as compared to other medical faculties. This prompted the K.L.E. Society to establish a Dental College, one that would serve the populace of Karnataka and neighbouring states. The Institute of Dental Sciences was setup in August 1985, within a sprawling 113 acre campus of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.
KLE Ayurveda Hospital & Medical Research Centre is a teaching hospital under the ambit of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi. It is a pioneer in providing quality healthcare service through Ayurveda since 1933.It is a well-recognized hospital in Karnataka state and it is functioning in the present building since August 2005. The hospital is flying with excellence in the field of Ayurveda with 281 bed strength and it is having a campus area about 11.5 acres.
The Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorsavirmath Medical College (JGMMMC) of KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (Deemed-to-be-University) being established at Gabbur, Hubballi. It is the Second Medical College & Hospital of KAHER. The Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society, the sponsoring society of KAHER has a rich history of imparting quality education & health facilities in this Norther part of Karnataka, Southern part of Maharashtra and even in Delhi.

Since 7th April 2004 three Primary Health Centres namely Kinaye, Vantamuri & Handiganur have been undertaken by the JNMC under ‘Public – Private Partnership (‘Arogya Bandhu Scheme’), by Govt. of Karnataka’ in collaboration with Zilla Panchayat Belagavi. Similarly Three Urban Health Centres namely Ram Nagar, Ashok Nagar and Rukmini Nagar in City Corporation area of Belagavi have been handed over to J.N. Medical College from 1st December 2011 by Govt of Karnataka Government.

The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research offers a three-year B.Sc. in Biostatistics & Population Sciences. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, covering biostatistics, demography, public health, and statistical software applications. Eligibility requires completion of a Pre-University Course or 12th Standard with at least 50% marks in Statistics or Mathematics for general category students, and 45% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates. The selection process includes shortlisting based on academic performance, followed by a personal interview. Graduates are prepared for careers in teaching, research, and national services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS).

The Department of Public Health at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Belagavi, addresses the critical shortage of trained public health professionals in India. The Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science at KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research offers a comprehensive three-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program in Hotel Management and Catering Science. This program is designed to align with current and future trends in the hospitality industry, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The School of Music at KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal). This four-year program is open to candidates who have completed PUC II or 10+2 from a recognized board, or those holding a Diploma in Music. Diploma holders are eligible for direct entry into the second year of the B.F.A. program, provided they have proficiency in Hindi, Kannada, or English. The university also offers certificate courses in Sugam Sangeet (Vocal), Percussion (Tabla), Non-Percussion (Harmonium), and a two-year Diploma in Music (Vocal). These programs aim to preserve and promote India’s rich musical heritage.
The Women’s and Children’s Health Research Unit of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) (Deemed-to-be-University) has been conducting Community-Oriented Research activities aimed at decreasing maternal and child mortality since 2001. Over the past twenty years, JNMC’s multi-disciplinary research team has conducted a number of community / hospital based research projects in collaboration with 27 international Universities and Research Institutes from USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Uganda, Zambia and Argentina and 24 Medical Institutes, Universities and Research Institutes in India with funding support from World Health Organization, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research, other NIH agencies, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

The DSIR approved research centre with a built up area of 10,000 Sq. ft. Hosting three labs that engage in basic research with state of art facilities for staff and research scholars. The research centre will focus on key areas like drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, molecular biology, microbiology, natural products and cell culture research. All these areas shall adopt fundamental concepts and application based “research with tangible outcomes”.
The Vice Chancellor of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi establish the Institutional Ethics Committee. The Ethics committee offers essential assistance, resources, and autonomy to ensure the smooth operation and effective decision-making during the protocol review process. Research and Development (R&D) Cell by KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), inspired by the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) aims to promote quality research in higher education, supporting national initiatives like Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Approved during a Research Advisory Council meeting, the cell’s vision, mission, objectives, and functions focus on fostering a strong research culture in alignment with UGC guidelines. This initiative underscores KAHER’s commitment to empowering professionals through innovation and academic excellence.
The KAHER has established numerous Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and collaborations with prestigious institutions worldwide to enhance educational quality and research opportunities. These collaborations aim to foster academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and the sharing of best practices, thereby enriching the educational experiences of students and faculty within the KLE Society.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. Since inception of the NSS in the year 1969, the number of students strength increased from 40,000 to over 3.8 million up to the end of March 2018 students in various universities, colleges and Institutions of higher learning have volunteered to take part in various community service programmes.
The Youth Red Cross is a most important constituent of its mother organization Indian Red Cross Society. YRC aims at inculcating the 7 fundamental principles of the Red Cross movement Viz., Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and University. The Youth Red Cross is organized with a view to develop and deploy students youth resource for working towards these principles.
All Students admitted to the Degree, Post Graduate and Diploma courses by virtue of their joining the college/ polytechnic, keeping attendance as per university rules and paying the Prescribed youth Red Cross fee shall become the members of the youth Red Cross of that college/Polytechnic.
The objectives of the cycling club at KLE Deemed University are to establish and manage cycling training centers, procure necessary sports equipment, and promote the benefits and rights of cycling. The club aims to provide comprehensive training in cycle maintenance and repair, foster social relationships among members of various sports clubs, and conduct yoga, gym, and exercise classes. It seeks to organize events and competitions to encourage participation in cycling, swimming, athletics, and running, offering financial incentives such as cash prizes and scholarships. The club also focuses on promoting health and sports awareness among rural youth, collaborating with governmental departments to support talented students, and organizing sports meets at various levels.
