The college is also known as a centre of excellence with world-class infrastructure in place to offer the finest Pharmacy education, research and healthcare services. 

The Society’s College of Pharmacy began in 1968, within splendidly verdant 110 acre campus with a Diploma Course followed by a Degree Program in 1975, Postgraduate Program in 1988 and a Doctoral program in 2000. The undergraduate program is accredited by NBA. The college is recognized by AICTE as a Quality Improvement Centre to admit students under QIP program. Quality improvement program workshops are conducted for teachers of Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and other states and the college has gained a reputation for its academic excellence and rated as one of the best, amongst top 25 Pharmacy colleges of India. The college has collaborations with Rhodes University, South Africa and Goa College of Pharmacy, Goa for faculty and student exchange program.

The institute receives grants from AICTE, ICMR, CSIR and VGST. All the courses are recognized and approved by Pharmacy Council of India and AICTE, New Delhi.The college has experienced and highly qualified faculty, of which 60% faculty members are with Ph.D. qualification. The college has excellent infrastructure facilities like UV spectrophotometer HPLC, UFLC, high speed ultra centrifuge, FTIR, Nanotrac, DSC and AAS etc. the college is developing Bioinformatics division, Molecular biology laboratory of international standards.

B.Pharm

  • Passed 10+2 exam with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the mathematics/ Computer Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical vocational/ PC & electronics Subjects.
  • Obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects together.
  • Lateral entry in 2nd year B. Pharm: D. Pharm candidates passed from an PCI approved institution with at least 50% marks.
  • 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to reserved category.
 

Pharm.D.
A pass in any of the following examinations –

  • 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
  • A pass in D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate)

  • A pass in B.Pharm from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act: Provided that there shall be reservation of seats for the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government/State Government/Union Territory Administration as the case may be from time to time.
